Econet Group’s Swedish associate company Econet Vatten & Miljöteknik got its largest project so far. In addition, Malmö-located Econet Vatten & Miljöteknik becomes part of the first implementation of the new Nereda- technology of Royal HaskoningDHV in Sweden. The parties do not reveal the price of the project.
- We are happy and proud to be part of this innovative project, tells Econet Vatten & Miljöteknik’s project-engineer Natasha Montes.
Nereda is an energy efficient, biological wastewater treatment technology that purifies water based on bacteria growing into compact granules. Moreover, they consume up to half the energy and require no chemicals. Moreover, the process removes organic nitrogen and phosphorus.
The wastewater treatment plant of Strömstad’s municipality is the first plant in Sweden, which takes the new Nereda- technology into use. The purpose of the large reconstruction is to increase the capacity of the wastewater treatment plant, and at the same time decrease the costs and the energy consumption. The project is challenging, because a great deal of tourists visit Strömstad, thus, the amount of wastewater varies. In addition, the cold conditions cannot affect the wastewater treatment results.
Econet Vatten & Miljöteknik’s role in the project is to deliver and install all mechanical equipment. The project will be finished in 2019.
- Econet Vatten & Miljöteknik shows good and brave example in being part of taking new technology into use. I believe that the same technology can soon be brought to Finland, too, tells Econet Group’s managing director Matti Leppäniemi.
